The Colosseum is the most visited attraction in Italy - and tickets sell out quickly, especially in high season. On this page you will find an overview of all available Colosseum tickets: from inexpensive standard admission to guided tours in various languages and combined tickets with the Vatican Museums.
Every Colosseum ticket automatically includes access to the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill. Depending on the type of ticket, you also receive access to the arena floor, an audio guide or a guided tour of the ancient ruins.
Important: The official admission price is low, but the contingent of cheap tickets is limited. If these are sold out, often only tickets with additional services on external platforms remain. We therefore recommend booking early - especially for travel dates between March and October.
Note for young visitors: Admission to the Colosseum is free for anyone under the age of 18. EU citizens up to and including the age of 25 receive a reduced price - but only on the official website and subject to availability. The tickets on this page are valid for visitors aged 26 and over. Tips for visiting the Colosseum
It is best to plan your visit early in the morning or late in the afternoon - then the queues are shorter and the light is particularly beautiful for photos. The Colosseum is also less crowded on rainy days.
Wear comfortable shoes, as the grounds, including the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, are extensive and uneven in places. Expect a security check at the entrance: large rucksacks and glass bottles are not permitted.
Plan at least 2-3 hours in total - one hour for the Colosseum itself and one to two hours for the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill.
